We Become What We Behold is an ultra-short point and click experience where you take on the role of a photojournalist. Your goal? Hold the camera, observe carefully, and choose which moments to capture. Every photo spreads instantly and shapes the unfolding story of the “square” and “circle” characters.
With a simple yet clever design, the game explores how media choices can influence community behavior and perceptions.
Gameplay and mission
Capture or Ignore—That Is the Choice
Players use the mouse to aim and snap photos. Every picture appears on a small TV screen for all characters to watch and react to.
Change community behavior
For example, if you capture “the man with a hat,” soon many others will start wearing hats too. But once it becomes too common, they’ll get bored and drop the trend.
When “peace” becomes breaking news
Snapping moments of violence or anger creates even stronger effects: characters grow fearful, society divides, and chaos escalates. The more you lean into this, the more emotions spread like a virus.
An unsettling ending
The game closes with a scene of total chaos and then fades to black—a haunting reminder that we truly become what we behold.
